Welcome to Minyan Na'aleh!
Minyan Na'aleh is Denver's grassroots, lay-led, independent, progressive, pluralistic, traditional minyan (prayer community). Founded in September 2004, Na'aleh is a warm and welcoming community formed around spirited prayer, communal meals, Jewish learning and social action.
We meet for services and a potluck dinner on the first Friday night of every month, as well as for most Jewish holidays, learning, yoga, shared Shabbat meals, and social action events. Browse the pages on our web site and check us out in real life. We hope you’ll become a part of our community!
What's in a name?
Na'aleh is Hebrew for "we shall go up" or "we shall ascend." It is partly an allusion to our altitude - at 5,280 feet above sea level, we are possibly the world's highest grassroots, lay-led independent minyan! But it is also an allusion to our attitude - we believe that by forging lasting and meaningful community connections, we can achieve a higher level of spirituality and connectedness to each other and to G-d. Together, we can reach higher than any one of us can alone.
